Detailed Description
This is a particularly exquisite sea salt, extracted from the salt works of Margherita di Savoia under the hot sun of Apulien.
This natural salt, which contains many essential substances such as chlorine, sodium, magnesium, iodine, fluorine, is an important part of Mediterranean cuisine and is also a significant component of a healthy diet.
Our fior di sale (“flower of salt”) is extracted in the far north-west of Sicilia on a promontory at the foot of Monte Erice, near the city of Trapani.
Here, on the coast, is where the border between the Tyrrhenian Sea and Mediterranean runs. This is why Trapani is called the “Città tra due mari,” the city between two seas.
It is only here, between Trapani and Marsala, in a climate which is particularly suited to salt extraction, that we obtain salt from the salt works of Sicily.
In contrast to modern salt extraction plants, work here is mostly undertaken by people, who are called salt farmers.
Fior di sale naturale can be used in any dish that needs a little extra salt.
The porcelain pot is also one of the most beautiful accessories you could use to decorate your dining table.

Fior de sale limone works well in fish dishes, sauces such as hollandaise sauce, or fresh summer salads.
